Regarding Community Crossroads’ Withdrawal Letter

Stop 61 Warehouses has received a letter from the township, via a Right to Know dated January 15, 2025, confirming that William Aiello of Crossroads Commercial Development LLC has officially withdrawn his proposal to develop mega warehouses in our township. We stood firmly against this plan because it would drastically alter the landscape of our community, ruin our farmland, displace families, and undermine local businesses—all of which would fundamentally disrupt the way of life we cherish. Aiello, in response to our unwavering resistance, labeled our actions as “vicious and ugly.” We view it as a commendable effort to protect our community.

It is evident that Aiello’s withdrawal is a direct result of our strong opposition, and we express our gratitude to everyone who dedicated their time, effort, and financial resources to achieve this victory. The community has made it clear: we will not accept this type of development here.

Members of Stop 61 Warehouses have consistently and vocally articulated our concerns to the North Manheim Township supervisors, Schuylkill County Commissioners, Planning Commissions, and Zoning Board. Our determination has been backed by local leaders, legislators, business owners, and thousands of residents, all united in our stance.

We celebrate this victory, yet we must remain vigilant. It is crucial to continue our advocacy to prevent similar threats in the future. We will be present at all future North Manheim Township meetings to ensure that the appropriate ordinances are established and enforced. Our strength lies in our unity, and we will maintain that as a cohesive group.

Moreover, we will keep our website and Facebook page active to ensure the community stays informed and mobilized should any new threats arise. Together, we remain an unyielding force against unwanted development within our township.
